The grass court season has started and Ana Ivanovic is happy that it has started. After a very succesful run at the French Open, where she reached the semi finals, Ana is apparently longing for strawberries and cream. How far do you think Ivanovic can reach on Wimbledon? Visit OLBG.com – free tennis betting tips  and find out the odds.

Today is the first day of the British grass court season. It’s always an exciting time. There’s something unique and special about playing on grass.: I’ve cherished it ever since I first played on it, at Roehampton in London when I was a junior. I’ll be in England soon enough for the AEGON Classic in Birmingham. Hope to see you there!

Rafael Nadal is not having the best season of his career. And many pundits wonder if he will ever reach that level of play again that has won him various Grand Slam tournaments. However he won the Stuttgart tournament last week. His first grasscourt tournament win in five years. And that win has given him a great level of confidence. Even though he was ousted in the first round of Queens losing to Alexandr Dolgopolov in three sets 6-3, 6-7, 6-4. The loss hasn’t diminished his belief that he can reach far into the third Grand Slam tournament.

“I fought until the end,” Nadal said. “He played well and he was a little bit better than me but I cannot say I am very sad the way that I played. [There is] nothing very negative, [after] winning a tournament last week.

“This week I lost an opportunity but my feeling, my thoughts, are no different today than yesterday. I am playing better than before and enjoying my tennis more on court than before. I will keep going, keep practising hard. I hope to be ready to play well at Wimbledon.”

Jose Mourinho and the king of Spain, Juan Carlos, attended the match.

Lots of activity on Maria Sharapova’s Facebook page. She is having a contest for the Limited-Edition ‘Under the Sun’ Birchbox autographed by Maria Sharapova and she  is gracing the cover of Bloomberg Business. I would write more about her but hey it is Maria Sharapova on a cover. Not like any of you guys would read it anyway.
