Roland Garros starts this coming weekend on May 25, 2014 and I think it’s high time to take a look at the current standings in tennis. What are our favorite tennis players up to? I bet you didn’t see all this coming!
Caroline Wozniacki and Rory McIlroy are dunzo!
Now this is shocking news to wake up to. Power sports couple Caroline Wozniacki and Rory McIlroy have called off their engagement. Apparently Rory got cold feet and called the whole thing off. A statement was issued through McIlroy’s management company.
“The problem is mine,” McIlroy said. “The wedding invitations issued at the weekend made me realise that I wasn’t ready for all that marriage entails.”
“There is no right way to end a relationship that has been so important to two people.
“I wish Caroline all the happiness she deserves and thank her for the great times we have had.”
Getting pumped with Gael Monfils and Benoit Paire
Gael Monfils and his doubles partner Benoit Paire were getting all pumped up before their doubles final in Nice last Sunday. Even though they didn’t win, I still appreciate their cheer!
Ana Ivanovic wants to #Bringbackourgirls
Not only is Ana Ivanovic a great player and a beautiful woman, she is also politically aware. Ivanovic posted a picture of herself holding up a piece of paper that said #BringBackOurGirls which ofcourse refers to the tragic kidnapping of the 230 school girls of the Chibok Government Secondary School by Boko Haram Terrorists in Nigeria. All 230 are still missing.
Ivanovic arrived in Paris for the Roland Garros tournament on Wednesday, May 21st according to her Facebook. With the hashtag #smashthesilence. The name of the next Adidas social media advertisement campaign.
I arrived in Paris last night. Heading to the adidas store on the Champs Elysees in the afternoon for what I’m sure is going to be a really fun event. Stayed tuned, all will be revealed! #smashthesilence
I am curious to see how this advertisement works out!
