I have never been to Linz or Austria ever. I came close when I was in Swiss to visit the Streetparade but Austria. Nope, never been there. But after my ogling eyes saw Andrea Petkovic, Sabine Lisicki and Petra Kvitova it kind of makes me wish that I was there and by that I mean, right now!
Andrea Petkovic lost Sunday’s finals in Shanghai but I have to say that the jetlag does not afffect her beauty in any way and Sabine Lisicki looks her beautiful self. Ofcourse the confident look of Wimbledon winner Petra Kvitova cannot go unnoticed either.
I have to add that I really like Andrea’s teeth. They are so white, I wonder what she uses to keep them white like that.
Caroline Wozniacki receives number 1 cake because well..she is the number 1
Caroline Wozniacki was treated a cake by the WTA Tour for holding the number 1 position on the tour for exactly 52 weeks. How long she will hold that position for pretty much depends on her results on the last couple of tournaments of the year and the results for the other competitors for the number 1 spot. The other competitors are Victoria Azarenka, Maria Sharapova , Petra Kvitova and Li Na. Though it seems unlikely that any of them will take over that number 1 spot, it is clear that with the competitors being so close to taking over, the 2012 season promises to be very exciting.
Caroline herself celebrated the number 1 and said the following on Facebook:
Got a cake at the China Open today from the WTA for my one year anniversary of holding the No.1 ranking : )
Victoria Azarenka complains about China spectators
Can you believe that the loudest player on the WTA Tour complains about noise? I thought it was very ironic.
“I would love people to be a bit more respectful and turn off their cell phones and just come and watch tennis and respect that players are doing their job,” Victoria Azarenka told reporters.
Unfortunately Azarenka was forced to withdraw from the China tennis tournament but she hopes to be back at the Luxembourgh tournament. And so do we because we have a photographer, Rick Gleijm, present at that tournament. So stay tuned for the photos of that coming next week.
It’s disappointing to have to withdraw from the China Open this morning. I’m sorry to the fans. I was hoping that my foot would be OK, but it has been bothering me since Tokyo. I’m not sure about the recovery time yet, but I’ll continue to consult with my doctor. I expect to be back for Luxembourg. – Victoria Azarenka on Facebook
Virtua Tennis 4 winner
We had a contest a while ago where you could win the Virtua Tennis 4 goodie bag. I picked our winner and his name is Chance Taylor. He sent us a photo of his prize. Thanks Chance and enjoy the game and the goodies!!
As for the winners of the Rafael Nadal biography “Rafa” I wish to congratulate you as well. I have handpicked you because I think that you have the best reasons to send the book to and that all that you wrote felt to me that it came straight from the heart.
Here are the photos of Linz. They were taken at the players party except for the photo of Andrea Petkovic with her hair loose. That one was taken at the Children’s Press Conference. Ofcourse as always credit where credit is due and so thank you Ralf Reinecke for providing us with the amazing photos.
